Netflix's BioShock movie script is half-cooked

Portal Collider interviewed director Francis Lawrence ("The Hunger Games", "Constantine", "I Am Legend"), who together with Netflix will stage a film based on the shooter BioShock. During the conversation, the filmmaker, among other things, spoke about the production of the tape.

Lawrence said that currently the script of the picture is about half ready - Michael Green, who worked on "Logan" and "Blade Runner 2049", is responsible for the plot. The authors of the film already have a complete picture of the events that will be shown in it, and it remains only for how to present them correctly.

According to the director, the first part of BioShock from the studio Irrational Games is one of the best video games in the industry. The director noted that this applies to both the visual style and the topics covered. In working on the film, Netflix gave Lawrence creative freedom, so the company's heads will not interfere in production.

In addition, the author of the film adaptation closely communicates with Take-Two Interactive and Ken Levin himself, the creative director of BioShock. Lawrence did not go into details, but noted that the tape will correspond to the gloomy tone of the source.

Summing up, the director said that his film will be able to break the "curse" of feature film adaptations, since BioShock has a clearly formulated idea and mythology.
